Stargazing: Quadrantid Meteor Shower!

  • Rockefeller State Park Preserve 125 Phelps Way Pleasantville United States (map)

Join Vinny Coulehan of the Rockland Astronomy Club for an evening of stargazing at the Preserve!

You’ll have the chance to view the night sky through a telescope and catch a glimpse of our planetary neighbors. The Quadrantid meteor shower will be at its peak on this date, so we may be in for a show! Please bring a folding chair that reclines and a headlamp with a red setting, if you have one.

Meet at the Visitor’s Center courtyard, followed by a short walk on the Overlook trail to our viewing location. Dress warmly and bring water to drink.

IMPORTANT: We leave promptly at scheduled times. This is a night hike, after the park has officially closed. Latecomers will not be allowed to join after the group has departed.

Rain date: TBD. Cost: $3 + Eventbrite fees. Max: 20 people.
