Unlike our usual night walks, this walk will be limited to 15 individuals so that we can really get a feel for the nuances of the nocturnal forest. The walk will serve as a baseline for future walks of this type when more animals will be up and about attending to business rather than staying snug and warm.
Please bring a headlamp or flashlight with a red light setting. Alternatively, if you have any hard candies with a transparent red wrapper, or some red tissue paper, you can use it to transform your flashlight beam into a non, night-vision destroying vessel of visibility.
The walk will begin and end in the Visitor’s Center courtyard and will last 1-2 hours, depending on weather conditions. Make sure that you dress warmly. Dressing in layers is always best, but a single warm garment will work for this walk.
IMPORTANT: We leave promptly at scheduled times. This is a night hike, after the park has officially closed. Latecomers will not be allowed to join after the group has departed.
In the event of heavy snow or temperatures in the teens, the walk will be canceled and a full refund will be issued; you will be notified at least 2 hours in advance.
